Coanda HENRI COANDA - pionier al aviatiei cu reactie si al mecanicii fluidelor
In 1967 a fost incununat cu titlul de Doctor Honoris Cauza al Institutului
Politehnic Bucuresti, a devenit membru al Academiei Romane (1970), presedinte
al Institutului pentru Creatie Stiintifica si Tehnica Bucuresti (1971),
membru al Societatii Aeronautice Engleze. Henri Coanda este realizatorul primului avion cu reactie din lume, incercat de el insusi in 1910, la Issy-les- Moulineaux (Franta), avion ce a fost prezentat si la Salonul International de Aeronautica de la Paris. Este atras de cercetarea fenomenului devierii unui fluid in alt fluid, numit "efectul Coanda" (1934). A efectuat cercetari numeroase in mecanica fluidelor, publicand articole stiintifice in toate domeniile pe care le-a studiat. Aflandu-se la baza a numeroase aplicatii, "efectul Coanda" este, fara indoiala, certificatul de nastere a mecanicii fluidelor, o noua ramura a tehnicii. Dintre inventiile sale, 33 se bazeaza pe cercetari fundamentale originale, ceea ce ii confera ilustrului inventator roman o mare autoritate stiintifica.
Henri Coanda a murit la 25 noiembrie 1972, la Bucuresti si este inmormantat
in cimitirul Bellu. Henri Coanda 1886 to 1972 Farther and inventor of the Jet Aeroplane History: Henri Coanda
should be known in history as the Farther of the Jet Engine his design
(which he made himself) was thirty years before Whittle, yet all the
world believes Frank Whittle invented this form of propulsion. The aeroplane
was on display in October 1910 at the Second International Aeronautical
Exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris were it caused a great deal
of interest and crowds as no one had seen any thing like it before (nor
would they for another thirty years!). After the Exhibition closed on
the 10th of December 1910, Henri Coanda moved his aeroplane to Issy-Les-Moulineaux,
were he intended to test the engine, the results of which are best told
by Henri Coanda himself. How ever after this (the FIRST flight of a jet powered aeroplane) Henri Coanda could not find financial backing to progress with his invention.
